Early Edition 2018
27 May — 2018

This was the second year at the new venue; Sywell Aerodrome. This year they changed the entrance to further down the road which made the event feel much larger as there was more space. I might be wrong on the space, but definitely felt bigger.

As normal they split VAG and non-VAG which is good, but essentially, all VAG were included in the show. Ordinarily this wouldn’t work for me as just because you have a VW Golf, it doesn’t mean you want it included. For the second year, this format worked though. At the previous venue, cars were pretty separate so you didn’t feel inclusive.

On to the show, being a massive VAG fan I was super impressed, some really great cars. Brand new R8’s and RS6’s to an array on MK1 Golf’s. It’s nice to see a wide variety of expensive and cheap (not the MK1 Golf’s) at a show.

There was also a huge turn out from the caddy/camper guys and girls, which again adds to the variety and doesn’t make it feel like a bunch of stances cars in a field.

Overall the weather was beautiful, cars looked great, and it was a good day out.

And to the dude that was racing his silver Fiesta Zetec S up and down the road….not cool.

Peace.
